Doruzu: The New Evolution on ApeChain
When ApeChain emerged as a fresh, fast, and creator-friendly ecosystem, we saw the perfect opportunity to expand the RugDollz universe with a bold new direction. This vision became Doruzu, also known as Dollz on Ape, a collection built to rekindle the excitement of true collecting while introducing a new art style that stays connected to our origins.
We wanted Doruzu to feel new yet familiar. A fresh aesthetic, but still undeniably RugLabz. To achieve this, our team spent months crafting over 400 meticulously designed traits, ensuring a wide range of appearances, personalities, and rare discoveries. Some of the rarest traits in the collection are weapons, intentionally limited to increase their desirability, while still making sure the non-weapon characters are equally beautiful and balanced. Every Doruzu stands in a straight-facing pose, deliberately chosen to create the perfect PFP look for collectors.
At the heart of Doruzu lies the concept of Chakras, serving as the characters’ inner energy sources and giving each one a deeper sense of identity and power. To preserve the connection to RugDollz, we added subtle patchwork detailing to these humanoid characters. This stitchwork isn’t random, it tells a story. When a RugDoll and a Doruzu find each other and form a bond, the patchwork becomes visible, symbolizing a connection both physical and spiritual. Together, they are matched in strength and spirit, forming powerful partnerships destined to stand against the RugTrollz.
After creating and minting out the collection, we immediately integrated Doruzu into the wider RugLabz ecosystem. Holders can stake their NFTs to earn tokens, unlock utility, and begin shaping their place within the world. To bring the experience even further to life, we built a full Web3 dApp where collectors can explore lore, customize their profiles using their Doruzu, and earn unique badges that celebrate their achievements and deepen their engagement.
