Because of his skills he was chosen for the expedition to the peak of Devil's Tooth with one of the mages.

He fought relentlessly, throwing his spears with great accuracy, felling many beasts, however he couldn't slay them all...

Eventually he fell and the wolves started tearing his body apart. A thunderstrike saved his lifeless shell from the wretched fate. The discharge hit Indra's body, killing all beasts around hium. One night later Indra rose from the ground, now charged with electricity flowing through his veins.

His human traits carried over to his new beastly form. Indra, The Conductor defends his pack, throwing thunder at anyone that dares to face him.
